Get out in the sunshine and get snapping for a chance to win in our Spring Photo Competition 2021
Fancy yourself as a bit of a photographer? Then why not enter our Happeninginherts.com Spring Photo Competition 2021? We are looking for your best photos of local Herts landscapes, landmarks and wildlife, plus we will also have a children’s category (best landscape or wildlife photos taken by children under the age of 16 – see the daisy photo by Danielle Holzhausser, aged 11 above) and a pet category (photos of your cat, dog or other pet enjoying the great outdoors).
We’re delighted to announce that award-winning photographer Penny Bird based in Harpenden, and who has previously been on our Local Lowdown Podcast, will be helping judge the competition this year. She can’t wait to see your photos!
Last year we had some beautiful entries, including the third prize entry of lambs with their Mum by Elaine Taylor below in the adult category and the lovely second prize photo below of a blue tit with nesting materials by Ruth Watson.
Could you offer a prize?
Are you a local business that would like to offer a prize for one of our categories? Then we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch – either by emailing us at email@example.com or message us through our Facebook or Instagram pages.
The deadline for entry to the Spring Photo Competition 2021 is Friday 11th June at midnight. Enter by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your photo and details. Maximum number of entries per category is three.

The photo competition is free to enter and is open to all except those working for Happeninginherts.com and their families or professional photographers.
All photos must be original work, taken by the entrants. No third party may own or control any materials the photo contains, and the photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.

Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
The prize must be collected by the winner and is non-transferable.
The winner will be contacted via the email address provided during entry. If no response is received after three business days, a new winner will be selected and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.
