A new website for Hertfordshire

Happeninginherts.com ‘Shop Local’ Grocery Box Scheme is launched!

We’re very excited to announce the launch of our grocery box service – with items sourced from local businesses. Check out our online store for details!

We’ve just launched our weekly grocery box service through our online store. All the items are sourced from local businesses, including Broxbourne Fruit & Veg, the Sugar & Scoop zerowaste store in Ware, GS Picketts Butchers in Ware, Mudlarks Cafe in Hertford. We wanted to make it easier for local people to access the fantastic produce from our fab local Herts small businesses.

Our grocery boxes feature quality fruit and veg from Broxbourne Fruit & Veg (once the growing season is in full swing we will also source items from local growers) and dried goods such as pasta, couscous, rice from Sugar & Scoop in Ware.

Order by Wednesday 10am for delivery on Fridays. In the future we hope to offer additional delivery days as we grow.

Brownies made by Karen at Country Fare Catering

The minimum order is £20 and you can add goodies such as quiches, sausage rolls and brownies all freshly made by Karen at Country Fare Catering in Hunsdon, fresh sourdough bread or muffins from Proto Artisan Bakery in Cheshunt, and flowers from Gina at April Showers floristry design in Stanstead Abbotts, plus wine from The Very English Wine Company, fruit cakes made by Jan Fullwood and Dawlicious ice cream.

We are also featuring Savoury and Seafood Graze Boxes – sourced from Country Fare Catering, GS Picketts Butchers and The Lobster Pot in Stanstead Abbotts. Plus there’s our Date Night Steak Meal Box with everything you need to have a romantic meal at home.

It’s just small to start with but will grow as we add more products. If you don’t see what you want while you’re making an order you can contact us at happeninginherts@gmail.com and we can try to source it for you.

Meanwhile, some time ago we offered the prize of a bottle of wine to whoever came up with the best idea for our grocery boxes. Sarah Wragg wins a bottle of wine for her suggestion of having different sized boxes for different household groups. Congratulations Sarah!
