The big-hearted Hertford and Harlow-based estate agent is running a charity raffle to raise money for Herts and Essex-based mental health charities and is seeking prizes
With a second Lockdown upon us and the nights getting colder and darker, it’s a difficult time for many people who may live alone and can’t see their families and friends. It’s also a struggle for many of our local businesses which have had to close their doors again after just getting back to normal.
With that in mind, big-hearted estate agents Kings, based in Hertford and Harlow, have decided to take action. They have launched a charity raffle via their Gofundme page – tickets are £2.50 each or 3 for £5 – and are asking local businesses to donate a prize of their choice.
“We are so gutted to hear of the news of the second lockdown,” explains branch manager Brodie Clark. “[We] do understand that this is for our safety but it doesn’t take away how hard it must be and is going to be for local businesses.
“So we have had an idea to help keep the businesses promoted through this time and to keep the community together in this time, whilst creating awareness for another huge problem all communities in the UK are facing – the mental health crisis.
“We are asking local businesses to donate ANY prize of their choice to keep their business promoted over these tough times which will be shared across many social media platforms and within our branches.”
The raffle tickets will then be sold at a reasonable price to raise money for mental health charities in our local areas, including Mind West Essex, Mind in Mid Herts and a new charitable venture organised by Loughton-based DJ Pat Wilson – @Steptowardseverythingpositive on Instagram – to raise awareness of mental health issues.
Kings have received numerous offers of prizes from many local businesses, including Ginger Lilly, Gogetters, Mr Simms, Brothership, Daisy Bake, S&J Shellfish, LOMO, House of Bakes and many others pictured above.
