Hertford resident Sally Lawrence organising the event to give back to unit that treated her
Fancy a well-earned boogie that’s all in a good cause? Then why not book tickets to The Ska, Reggae and Latin Night at the Southern Maltings in Ware on 6th November? The event, which is being organised by Hertford resident Sally Lawrence and her husband Steve, is in aid of the Lister Cancer Treatment Unit and features live music from The Trojan Horses and the Songs of Praise DJs.
Sally, who is herself a cancer survivor, wanted to give back to the unit and its staff after receiving treatment from it last year.
“We are putting on this gig because my good friend and I had treatment at the Lister Hospital for breast cancer last year,” Sally explains. “I survived, but unfortunately my friend did not.
“In my case and hers, the unit and staff were dedicated, hard working, kind and exhausted. It is a vocation for them and I would like to give them money to help them provide the care they want to give.
“The mighty, the brilliant, The Trojan Horses, are out of retirement for one night for this gig! Don’t miss it! Let us celebrate life after the last year that everyone has had, dance, and pay back to those who care for us.”
